About the Poems I Just Posted
Several years ago I habitually wrote alot. I wrote several poems, many short stories and was nearly 4/5ths finished with the manuscript of my first horror novel with another in the beginning stages.
While a student at the university studying film production, photography and writing I wrote numerous free lance articles for the university newspaper. I also photographed numerous local bands and shot several music videos. I also produced and directed a live music television show.
Not that any of this from my past is relevant, it brings me to the reason why I posted these last three poems. Back in 2001 my home was destroyed by a fire and I lost everything I ever worked for. Shortly before the fire I submitted a few poems to Poetry.com which were then later selected for recognition and publication. It was not until several years later that I tried to locate them on their website only to realize they have omitted the old entries from their website. Unfortunately, to this very day, I have still yet found the name of the book they printed 2 of my poems in. My memory is vague and while I recall most of it, it’s not the same if I try to recreate, so they’re gone.
For some time now I pondered the idea of just writing again, but I have time constraints due to work, errands, family, kids, etc.. so I don’t write like I used to. I began submitting again to poetry.com. I wrote them not so long ago on a whim and not on paper, so today decided to post them here on The Tangled Web as the beginning to the poetry category as what’s writing for if not to share with others, and lest I forget and lose them again.
